Senator Joe Manchin is still refusing to commit to voting for the Democrats’ $2 trillion social and climate package.
Context: Party leaders want to pass the bill before the Christmas deadline they set.
Manchin is concerned about inflation and the length of the programs involved in the package.
Why this is important: Manchin is not a fan of Biden’s vaccine mandates and has already supported Biden’s infrastructure package.
This bill could be too far for Manchin.
Democrats have said the package is fully paid for, but a Congressional Budget Office report says that is wrong.
What they are saying?:
based on what Manchin said tonight, and the obvious gap between his comments and the BBB text as it passed the House, I really don't see how this clears the Senate before the end of 2021.

Anyone defending Biden’s BBB negotiating strategy should remember that Biden let Manchin cut the bill from 3.5 trillion to 1.75 trillion without securing his vote, passed the BIF to give up his leverage and now Manchin is withholding his vote again for MORE concessions.
