Republicans are taking action against the effects of climate change, but just aren’t particularly thrilled to discuss it scientific causes and the left-wing ideology that frequently accompanies it.

The Details: Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida has unveiled several projects to attempt to tackle the toll rising sea levels are already having on his state, including new drainage systems and sea walls.

However, while attempting to deal with its effects DeSantis has refused to use the term ‘climate change’ as he seems to believe it carries with it to many left-wing connotations.

“What I’ve found is people, when they start talking about things like global warming, they typically use that as a pretext to do a bunch of left-wing things,” said Mr. DeSantis at the event…We’re not doing any left-wing stuff.” DeSantis said.

GOP lawmakers in other states hit hard by the effects of climate change, like Texas, Idaho, and South Carolina also appear to be taking a similar approach.

A new survey conducted by Florida Atlantic University shows that the percentage of Republicans that now believe in climate change has now increased to 88 percent.
