President Biden’s Build Back Better agenda cleared one major hurdle on Friday as the nearly $2 trillion spending bill passed the House.
Context: The bill passed with a slim margin of 220-213, setting up what is likely a contentious battle in the Senate.
The bill contains provisions to create a universal kindergarten, negotiation for lower drug prices, and climate initiatives.
In addition, it expands tax enforcement mechanisms for the Internal Revenue Service.
