Election officials are facing a big challenge heading into the midterms — voter skepticism.

Context: The election defeat of Donald Trump caused questions to be raised, and many supporters have raised concerns about the security of elections.

It has cascaded into a senate defeat in Georgia and a gubernatorial defeat in California where enough Republicans to secure victory, stayed home.

What this means: Election officials, even in a GOP stronghold like Florida, are scrambling to educate election officials and voters on the security of elections.

Skepticism among losers is not new, look at Gore supporters and Clinton supporters, but in 2020 only 22% of Republicans were confident that ballots were counted accurately.

In Michigan, a state won by Biden in 2022 is increasing efforts to educate voters and answer questions.
