Donald Trump’s former communications director Hope Hicks is sitting down with the January 6th committee for a transcribed interview sources say. Hicks has reportedly previously testified for the House select committee’s investigation but is being called back to put her interview on record. Hicks told Trump he lost the 2020 presidential election and received pushback for not believing the election had been stolen, according to multiple books that came out about the final months in the Trump White House.

According to reporting from “The Divider: Trump in the White House, 2017-2021,” by Peter Baker and Susan Glasser, Trump is quoted as saying, “Well, Hope doesn’t believe in me.” Hicks did not play a big role during Trump’s final weeks in office and the January 6th committee has looked for individuals in Trump’s inner circle who did not believe the election was stolen.
