On Thursday, “The View” co-host Sunny Hostin said that white suburban women voting for Republicans is like “roaches voting for Raid.” Fellow host and former Director of Communications for Donald Trump, Alyssa Farah, was rightly outraged by the comments and told Hostin she was insulting voters and hurting democracy. Hostin’s original comment was in response to a conversation about the issue of abortion and the fact that white women seemed to be voting to protect life absolutely triggered her.

Here is the full quote from Hostin:

“What’s also surprising to me is the abortion issue. I read a poll just yesterday that White Republican suburban women are now going to vote Republican. It’s almost like roaches voting for Raid [roach spray], right?”

Alyssa Farah responded to Hostin honorably because using rhetoric like “roaches” to describe a political opponent is no way to support democracy and grow political discourse. President Biden’s speech on Wednesday night placed all the blame on Republicans for the violent and divided political climate. But it seems to always be Democrats who are using the most offensive and hateful speech.
