Tech stocks declined significantly on Monday along with much of the rest of the market as inflation fears continue to weight heavily on investors.

The Details: The Nasdaq, S&P 500 and the Dow Jones all fell significantly on Monday, with the bulk of the losses coming from the previously fast growing tech sector.

Historically low interest rates have helped to fuel a massive rally in tech stocks over the past year, but with Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell now signaling that low rates may finally be coming to an end in 2022 the market is feeling nervous.

The CPI (Consumer Price Index) report for December, a leading inflation measure, is set to be released on Thursday.
