Former speaker of the house Paul Ryan has told Fox who he believes can easily defeat Joe Biden in the 2024 presidential election. Ryan was first asked whether Trump’s Tuesday night re-election pitch was compelling. He responded, “No, because I think the evidence is really clear. With Trump we lose, with somebody else we’re going to win.”
Ryan went to say who he thought would be the best candidate in 2024, “I think we’ve got a lot of good people and I think Ron is one of them. I think DeSantis is a great candidate.” “I think anybody not named Trump can beat Biden,” he added.
He then doubled down on his stance that Trump is not the answer:
“There are other factors, but I think the main takeaway here is the evidence is crystal clear. Trump is costing us elections, and we know that there’s a great generation of capable conservatives who are more capable of winning the general election than Donald Trump.”
