New audio has now emerged of former President Donald Trump defending a ‘Hang Mike Pence’ chant used by January 6th rioters as they were storming the capitol building.

The audio was recorded during an interview with ABC News reporter Jonathan Karl in March 2021. During the recording Trump can be heard saying that ‘…the people were very angry’ during a line of questioning discussing the chant and potential threats to then Vice-President Pence’s safety.

Trump and Pence very well may find themselves facing off against one another in the 2024 Republican Presidential primaries. The news may also weigh on many conservatives contemplating whether they should stick with Trump in 2024 or go with a candidate who some claim would be more electable, like Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
