Senator Joe Manchin recently announced opposition to Joe Biden’s nearly $2 trillion spending bill.
However, he did make some recommendations on changes he would like to see in the bill.
What changes he would like to see: Manchin would like to see tax policy changed so everyone pays their fair share, including corporations that pay nothing or close to nothing.
A true lowering of the cost of prescription drugs would be something Manchin would like to see, as well.
Manchin also wants the child tax credit to include work requirements and a test to exclude those making more than $200,000.
Reports have indicated that tensions between Biden and Manchin have continued to escalate.
What is next: Senator Chuck Schumer recently announced a vote in early 2022 in an attempt to call Manchin’s bluff.
