On Wednesday morning, Republican Adam Laxalt had begun to take a slight lead over Democrat incumbent Cortez Masto in the Nevada Senate race with 70 per cent of precincts reporting. The race is key for Republican hopes of taking the Senate. Laxalt holds a 49.9 to 47.2 advantage and looks increasingly likely that he will win the contest.
