Lawmakers in Tennessee are now proposing a bill to ban the discussion of what it calls ‘LGBT Lifestyle Issues’ in public schools in the state.

The Details: The bill states that any and all materials that ‘promote, normalize, support, or address controversial social issues, such as lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, and transgender (LGBT) lifestyles are inappropriate’ and shouldn’t be taught on school grounds.

The bill also goes on to state that ‘The promotion of LGBT issues and lifestyles should be subject to the same restrictions and limitations placed on the teaching of religion in public schools.’

A similar bill is now working its way through the Florida legislature and has the backing the Gov. Ron DeSantis.
