On Tuesday’s edition of “The Joe Rogan Experience“, the podcast star backed DeSantis during a conversation with former MMA fighter and current actress Gina Carano, who was notoriously fired by Disney for her social media activity.

After criticizing President Joe Biden as “a dead man as president” increasingly unable to deal with the responsibilities of his position, Carano asked Rogan, “Are you throwing out any support towards anyone or are you gonna hold off? Didn’t Elon Musk come out recently for DeSantis?”

“Yeah, I think Ron DeSantis would work as a good president,” Rogan responded. “I mean, what he’s done for Florida has been admirable.”

Rogan noted that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was ultimately correct about many of his statements and actions on COVID-19 which were derided by the mainstream media.

“He was correct when it comes to, like, deaths. He was correct when it comes to protecting our vulnerable populations. He was correct in terms of distribution of monoclonal antibodies, and he was furious when the government tried to pull those. They were trying to pull very effective treatments.”

“You know, he is not perfect. He’s a human being,” Rogan concluded. “But what he’s done is stand up for freedoms.”

Despite his rising popularity, however, DeSantis has been tight-lipped on whether he will actually pursue a run. He most recently told Fox News he is focused on running Florida.
