Incoming New York City mayor Eric Adams, a Democrat is refusing to bend to the whims of dangerous radical organizations like Black Lives Matter.

Background: Black Lives Matter skyrocketed to national notoriety after the death of George Floyd. The organization has staged riots and protests across the country stoking violence and damage in major cities.

New York City has seen multiple protests and riots which have resulted in major property damages over the years caused by Black Lives Matter. The organization, which claims to advocate for racial justice, has overall been given a free pass by New York City mayor Bill de Blasio.

Eric Adams is a former police officer elected to be the city’s next mayor.

Context: Mayor-elect Adams said during a press conference at a Police Athletic League event at the Harvard Club that he plans to push back against threats of violence looting by dangerous organizations.

“We’re not going to surrender to those who are saying ‘We’re going to burn down New York’,” Adams said.

Adams remarks seemed to reference recent threats made by BLM leader Hawk Newsome last month that promised “riots,” “fire” and “bloodshed.”

When given the opportunity to retract his threats Newsome instead stood by the disturbing rhetoric.

Adama also made comments appearing to reference recent violence in Queens after Kyle Rittenhouse was proven innocent.

“We’re not going to have a city where anarchists come from outside our city and go into a community such as Queens and destroy the community for their own selfish needs and desires,” Adams said. (per Fox News)
