New York Representative Mondaire Jones cosponsored a bill to add four Supreme Court justices and issued blatant threats to his colleagues if they block a sweeping gun control package.

According to the Daily Caller, the bill Jones wants passed is the Protect Our Kids Act, introduced by fellow New York Representative Jerrold Nadler.

It would raise the minimum age to buy certain types of semiautomatic rifles to 21, require the storage of firearms in safes or other safe storage devices, and expand the regulation of bump stocks.

The measure is unlikely to pass the Senate, leading Jones to have a bit of a meltdown.

“You will not stop us from advancing the Protecting Our Kids Act today. You will not stop us from passing it in the House next week and you will not stop us. If the filibuster obstructs us, we will abolish it. If the Supreme Court objects, we will expand it. And we will not rest until we have taken weapons of war out of circulation in our communities. Each and every day, we will do whatever it takes to end gun violence, whatever it takes,” he said in a lengthy outburst.

Ohio Representative Jim Jordan said his comments showed Democrats’ true motives.

“They’ve told us what they want to do. Their real beef is with the Second Amendment. Think about what this bill does. It tells law-abiding citizens when you can get a gun, what kind of gun you can get, what kind of accessories you can get for your gun, and where and how you have to store it in your own darn home.”
