Buckingham Palace said the queen, who is 95, had mild cold-like symptoms.
The news comes just a few weeks after the monarch celebrated her Platinum Jubilee, marking 70 years on the throne. Her son, Prince Charles, tested positive for the second time less than two weeks ago.
The queen’s health has been a concern lately. Last October she was ordered to rest by doctors after spending a night in the hospital for undisclosed “preliminary tests”.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson took to Twitter to wish the queen well.
I’m sure I speak for everyone in wishing Her Majesty The Queen a swift recovery from Covid and a rapid return to vibrant good health.

The queen will reportedly undertake light duties and hold virtual meetings despite being ill.
