On Friday, Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina officially filed paperwork with the Federal Election Commission to run for president in 2024. Scott had been rumored to be entering the race for months and is expected to make a formal announcement next week. He is also planning a $6 million ad buy that will begin next week. A Scott official told the Daily Caller:

“This campaign is built to win and has the resources and messenger to deliver a Republican nomination and ultimately the White House.”

Senator Scott joins Nikki Haley, Asa Hutchinson, Vivek Ramaswamy and Donald Trump as declared Republican candidates.

This is a developing story.
