During a speech for the National Action Network (NAN) Martin Luther King Jr. Day breakfast Joe Biden insisted that “there is no social redeeming value to assault weapons.” Furthermore, the president claimed that in order for Americans to rise up against a tyrannical government, they would need “some F-15s. You don’t need an AR-15.” The Second Amendment is based around the Founding Father’s belief that citizens have the right to be armed in order for them to rise-up and overthrow a corrupt government. Biden said that Republicans only want to keep assault weapons legal because it’s “all about money.”

Biden has pressing Congress for years to pass what he calls ‘common-sense gun reform,’ which would includes a ban on assault weapons. He has also demanded a nationwide ban on high-capacity magazines. Biden berated the use of assault rifles by private citizens in during Monday’s talk:

“Deer aren’t wearing kevlar vests out there, what the hell do you need an assault– no I’m serious. And ban the number of bullets that go in a magazine. There’s no, no need for any of that.”

“If you need to worry about taking on the federal government, you need some F-15s. You don’t need an AR-15.”

‘I’m serious, think about it. Think about the rationale for this. It’s about money,’

‘I’m going to get assault weapons banned. I did it once, I’m going to do it again.’

Last motn, Biden quipped that hunters who use AR-15s for hunting must be ‘terrible shots.’ The National Action Network (NAN) is Reverend Al Sharpton’s civil rights non-profit and Biden’s remarks regarding assault weapon bans were met with resounding applause.
