According to reports, the Biden Administration is forcing hotels in upstate New York to boot guests with reserved rooms in order to house migrants from New York City. The overflow of migrants in the big apple has increased and will continue to increase following the fall of Title 42 last week. One upstate New York hotel CEO says he was told by the government that homeless veterans staying at his hotel while waiting for permanent housing would need to be kicked out.

New York State Assemblyman Brian Maher went on Fox News to discuss the controversy and stated:

“So the Biden administration, Governor Hochul, and the city of New York, they all have a part in this, and it’s a total embarrassment. “It’s a slap in the face to veterans, to citizens of New York in this country, who are really being cast aside to allow for asylum seekers to come here.”

“At the end of the day, when it comes to this particular situation, you had combat veterans who were homeless, who were told to get out of their hotel,”

“After one day, Sharon and her team scrambled to find them locations, and right now, what we’ve tried to do is let those veterans know we appreciate them. We’re embarrassed by what’s happened to them, but we have their backs.”

In another case, The Crossroads Hotel in Newburgh, New York had to cancel 30 rooms for a Florida couples wedding which were made months ago. The hotel canceled the booking for their 160 guests in order to provide more room for migrants coming from New York City.

According to the Post Millennial:

35-year-old Deanna Mifsud and 37-year-old Gary Moretti, who are from New York but live in Florida, intend to get married on June 24 in upstate Wallkill, New York, part of Orange County, and booked at The Crossroads Hotel because it is 20 minutes away.

Mifsud said, “We felt discarded, disappointed and angry that they just tossed us aside to make an extra dollar for the hotel. It’s just not right.”

According to the New York Post, New York City Mayor Eric Adams has been shipping illegal immigrants to upstate New York locations such as Westchester and the Hudson Valley. New York City has been reportedly booking rooms for the border crossers at a rate as high as $190 a night.

Their guests were set to arrive from Florida, Arizona, Minnesota, Connecticut, New Jersey, and California. New Yorkers from Long Island and Westchester were also set to stay at the hotel.

Somehow Biden still refuses to say there is a crisis at the border even when Americans are being booted from hotels because there are so many migrants without homes. The worst part is that this problem is only going to get worse. Title 42 is no longer in place to stem the tide of illegal immigration and over 400,000 illegal border crossings are expected to occur every month.
