An activist threatened opponents of biological men in women’s restrooms, saying that it was time to “arm up” in an April 2023 video that resurfaced on social media that hinted at fatal consequences for those who try to stop men from entering a women’s restroom.

The LibsOfTikTok X account resurfaced the video in a post on X Friday, being viewed 1.9 million times as of early Friday evening. Republican Rep. Nancy Mace of South Carolina also shared the video in a post that had more than 220,000 views, also as of Friday evening.

The issue of biological men claiming to be transgender women using women’s restrooms made headlines this week. This, after Mace introduced a resolution covering the Capitol complex’s restrooms as a response to the election of Sarah McBride to Delaware’s at-large congressional seat. In the video originally posted on TikTok last year, the activist, Tara Jay, dared opponents to prevent his entry into a woman’s restroom.

“I dare you to try and stop a transgender woman in my presence from using the bathroom. It will be the last mistake you ever make This is a call to action and a call to arms to everybody within the United States that are scared, worried, have children that are transgender, lesbian, bi or gay. This is a call to action. You need to arm up. Plain and simple. Go out, buy a gun, learn how to use it efficiently through and through. Because the time to act is now,” Jay said.

“You need to protect yourself, and you need to protect your fellow transgender brothers and sisters and theys and thems. You need to protect the rest of us in the LGB community, as I’m going to do myself. I do not fear Christians, I do not fear conservatives, I do not fear evangelicals, and I do not fear Republicans. They just talk a big game, that’s all they do. But heaven forbid you do something in my presence, you’re going to know what fear actually feels like.”

Jay’s TikTok account appeared to be deleted when the Daily Caller News Foundation tried to access it.

House Speaker Mike Johnson issued a policy prohibiting biological men from using women’s restrooms in the Capitol, with McBride agreeing to abide by the policy in a statement.
