During Biden’s stop in Miami campaigning for Florida gubernatorial candidate Charlie Crist Tuesday, he mentioned an interesting conversation he had had. While talking to the crowd in Hallandale Beach, he said he spoke to the inventor of insulin. Though fact checkers have now surfaced with news discrediting this conversation. This is also not the first slip-up Biden has had, even as recently as last month Biden had an issue with calling out a deceased congresswoman, with many commenting on how bad of a look this gives the President.

According to NewsMax Biden said:

“How many of you know somebody with diabetes, and needs insulin,” Biden rhetorically asked the Florida audience. “Do you know how much it costs to make that insulin drug for diabetes?”
“It was invented by a man who did not patent it because he wanted it available for everyone. I spoke to him, OK?”

The problem is that the “inventor” of insulin, Frederick Banting, died on February 20, 1941 – 21 months before Biden was even born. Though Banting didn’t even invent insulin he only discovered that it was produced by the human body.

Both portions of this mess-up leave many wondering what the motives behind these comments were. As claiming these points gives off the impression that Biden supporters and Americans are stupid and are only looking towards Biden for factual news.
