On Tuesday, House Republicans unveiled further WhatsApp messages they claim were composed by Hunter Biden during his business dealings with a Chinese energy firm. These texts from August 2017 suggest that Biden, the President’s son, asserted that an annual investment of $10 million was required for the joint venture with CEFC China Energy. He expressed surprise and clear disapproval at a $5 million proposal.
Hunter Biden wrote:
“I’m tired of this Kevin,” Hunter said. “I can make $5 million in salary from any law firm in America. If you think it’s about money, it’s not. The Biden’s (sic) are the best at doing exactly what Chairman wants from this partnership. Please let’s not quibble over peanuts.”
The House Oversight Committee’s Twitter page indicated that Biden’s correspondent was Gongwen Dong, an associate from CEFC China Energy, who went by the alias ‘Kevin.’
The following day, it was reported that one of Biden’s shell firms, OWASCO PC, received a $10,000 transfer from CEFC, according to the House Oversight Republicans who also provided a receipt as proof. Republicans stated that the ‘chairman’, now missing, was Chinese oil magnate Ye Jianming, who vanished in February 2018 following his detention by Chinese officials.
House Oversight Committee Republicans made allegations linking Ye to a Chinese Communist Party’s intelligence agency. They alleged:
“Ye stated that that CEFC China’s vision “is to obtain overseas resources and serve the national strategy,” Oversight Republicans’ Twitter account said. “He wanted to expand China’s reach and influence around the world.”
“As more facts come to light, it becomes even more evident that the Bidens put China and their interests first and America last,” House Oversight Republicans charged.
The investigation into Hunter Biden seems to be heating up as everday more damning information is made known to the public. Is it a matter of time before his charged? Keep close attention to this situation of the next few weeks.
