Elon Musk made headlines on Thursday night by firing top Twitter executives. Now, Bloomberg reports that he plans to take over the role of Twitter CEO, at least in the short term, and also is expected to reverse Twitter’s permanent bans, according to a source.
It is still unclear if he had completed the deal with Twitter at the time he entered the building and began firing people. Though, as of now, he had a deadline of Friday to complete the $44 billion deal.
Musk has promised to transform the social media platform by taking it private. He hopes by doing this he will be able to have more relaxed content moderation rules. He is also hoping that by firing many of the top execs in the company he will be able to create the environment he has envisioned for the company.
This is most definitely the beginning of the new Twitter under Musk’s control.
