Colorado County in the State of Colorado has been experiencing recent ballot issues on the eve of the midterm elections. Most recently, ballots which have already been sent to almost 110,000 voters were mistakenly labeled as primary ballots. Colorado County has faced other election ballot issues in the past.
In the June primaries, a ‘substantial’ number of ballots with incorrect state house races were sent out to voters. The ballots also omitted a county commissioner race.
Griswold, a Democrat running for reelection, previously assigned an election supervisor to the county for the June primaries after Democratic Clerk Gilbert Ortiz’s office mailed some ballots with an incorrect state house race and omitted a county commissioner race from a “substantial” number of ballots sent to Pueblo voters. Also during the June primaries, an investigation was launched after a voter was alleged to have tampered, via a USB device, with a voting machine.

Secretary of State, Jena Griswold (D-CO) has had to intervene in election issues not only in Colorado County but in other counties around the state as well. Griswold’s own office mistakenly sent postcards to approximately 30,000 noncitizens, encouraging them to register to vote.
