Hogg claimed Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) refused to meet with him because the senator is “triggered” by him, but Rubio’s chief of staff was quick to clear up Hogg’s malicious lie.

The young gun control activist, who was a high school senior during the Parkland school shooting, was caught in an embarrassing lie.

“Rubio staff said I can’t meet with him or his staff because I ‘trigger’ him. I just wanna have a conversation,” he said in a now-deleted tweet. “Please meet with me @marcorubio I just want to figure out how we can stop these things from happening.”

Rubio’s chief of staff, Michael Needham, was quick to correct the record.

Hogg then deleted his tweet and issued a half-apology, blaming his staff for causing the apparent mixup.
