A four-judge panel unanimously ruled against former President Donald Trump’s appeal in the case.
The decision also applies to Donald Trump Jr. and Ivanka Trump, who are involved in the Trump Organization at the center of the investigation.
The decision means both Trump and his children must personally testify in the probe,
New York Attorney General Letitia James (D), who is leading the civil investigation into the Trump Organization, welcomed the move.
“Once again, the courts have ruled that Donald Trump must comply with our lawful investigation into his financial dealings,” she said. “We will continue to follow the facts of this case and ensure that no one can evade the law.”
James alleges the Trump Organization misrepresented the value of its assets to avoid taxes.
Trump could still appeal to the New York Court of Appeals, the state’s highest judicial body. He accuses James of leading an investigation motivated by politics.
