The Supreme Court has now reportedly rejected a major Republican challenge to new congressional district lines in the state of Wisconsin.

The Details: There was no dissent from conservative justices in the one sentence order from the court, which will now allow the congressional district map proposed by Democrats in the state to take effect for the 2022 elections.

However, in a separate unsigned order the court then sided with Republicans on rejecting a new map proposed by Democrats of state legislative districts, forcing them to be reconsidered.

The Justices rejected the reasoning behind drawing the new state legislative maps, sending the map back to the legislature with specific instructions to draw a new, race neutral map.

Justices Sonia Sotomayor and Justice Elena Kagan both dissented on the latter ruling.
